Former Crimson Tide Fullback Kevin Turner Continues Battle With ALS; Video Inspires Millions To "Journey On"

Kevin Turner Kevin Turner, star fullback for the Alabama Crimson Tide, played eight seasons in the NFL for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles throughout the 1990s. In May 2010, Kevin was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kevin is now involved in research that links chronic traumatic encephalopathy (“CTE” i.e. repeated brain trauma) in athletes to ALS, and through The Kevin Turner Foundation, he is raising awareness about these issues. The Southeastern Conference and the University of Missouri have informally agreed that, barring new developments, the school will join the league and that Auburn University will move to the SEC East Division, according to two people familiar with the discussions. First-time starter Barrett Trotter hit Philip Lutzenkirchen for a 15-yard touchdown to start a Cam Newton-like comeback. Then wide receiver Emory Blake collected the onside kick to set up the game-winning drive.
