George Carlin

George Carlin

By Finebaum Fan

“Jim from Tuscaloosa”, the infamous “sidekick” of Paul Finebaum, apparently made his final call yesterday – at least for a while.

“Jim”, a regular caller to The Paul Finebaum Show, let one of George Carlin’s Seven Dirty Words slip and the ESPN censors missed it.

He, of course,  denied the allegation via Twitter, his forum of choice – second only to radio.

So, did he or didn’t he? Decide for yourself.

Did you hear it?

“I can’t BELIEVE I have to go through this SHIT to give you a compliment!” – Jim From Tuscaloosa

This wasn’t Jim’s first offense. According to Finebaum, “He was on double secret probation after what he said last week.”

Finebaum was joined by SEC Network Host, Dari Nowkhah, on today’s show as Finebaum and producer, John Hayes, discussed the “indefinite probation” with “Darriel from Columbus”.

“Jim”, well known for his Narcissistic tendencies, immediately contacted some of his closest personal friends (whom he has never met):

He even went so far as to invoke the name of the only caller ever be permanently banned from the Finebaum show, “Bobby from Homewood”.

“Jim” took the opportunity to announce that he has moved on from The Finebaum Show – again.

“Jim”, who quits the show almost as often as he calls it, bid a fond farewell:

For those of you who lament his passing on the show, have no fear.  “Jim from Tuscaloosa” is like a boomerang. You can toss him aside but he always comes back – whether or not you really want him.

These were some of the Twitter responses:

Paul Finebaum Takes Aim at "Jim from Tuscaloosa"

Paul Finebaum Takes Aim at “Jim from Tuscaloosa”

By Finebaum Fan.

“I-Man”, a popular “hall-of-fame” caller to The Paul Finebaum Show, added yet another call to his repertoire today.

He began his call by discussing Finebaum’s short-lived collegiate football career at the University of Tennessee.  Finebaum, as everyone knows, was a highly touted quarterback prospect from Memphis whose career was tragically cut short by a knee injury before he was ever able to take the field.

“I-Man” continued (through discussing Larry’s call from yesterday) to a prepared slam of “Darriel from Columbus” but was interrupted by Finebaum.

It seemed Finebaum had “Jim from Tuscaloosa” on his mind.

“Jim” is a controversial character on the show whose exploits are well documented on this site.

Other than using the Finebaum show as a mouthpiece for his ill-placed rants, “Jim” likes to spew his venom anonymously on Twitter.

We would have included a photo of “Jim” to the right, but as far as we know – none exist.

As long as you don’t offend “Jim from Tuscaloosa”, you can follow his Twitter account here.

For your listening pleasure, we present the following audio of the call.

“Darriel From Columbus” called Paul Finebaum today on ESPN Radio to complain about Finebaum’s program content.  It seems Darriel believes the show has too many interviews and not enough callers.

The Finebaum show is known for its cast of colorful callers.  According to New Yorker Magazine, “It’s basically an entertaining bar conversation with people that you’d never want to drink a beer with.”

Listen to the call again – it’s bound to become another Finebaum caller classic!
