“Dr. Lou”, impersonator extraordinaire of WJOX 94.5 in Birmingham, offered up this parody of the Paul Finebaum Show this morning on “The Jox Roundtable”.

He does a great job capturing some of the essence of the show and includes “Larry from Shelby County”, “Charles from Reeltown”, “Jim from Tuscaloosa”, and “Tammy”.

The additional voices you hear are those of the “Roundtable” which include Jim Dunaway, Ryan Brown, and Lance Taylor.

Lane Kiffin (l) and Daniel Tosh (r)

Lane Kiffin (l) and Daniel Tosh (r)

By FinebaumFan.

It is said that everyone has a doppelganger – someone who looks exactly the same as another person.

In the case of University of Alabama offensive coordinator, Lane Kiffin,  Daniel Tosh fits the bill.

Tosh is a comedian, actor, and writer who hosts the Comedy Central television show – “Tosh.0.

This week, Tosh took advantage of his striking resemblance to Kiffin to reveal his impression of a Lane Kiffin “call in” television show.

Along with his stunning “wife”, played by UFC ring girl Chrissy Blair, “Kiffin” fielded calls from fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, the USC Trojans, and the Tennessee Volunteers.

Watch as “Lane” takes calls from these unhappy fans on “Kiffin’s Krimson Korner”.

“Iron Bowl” week has started early this year. Fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide have already banked the win over the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs this upcoming Saturday.

In light of the recent developments in Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston’s legal issues, Bama fans are speculating that he may fall from grace as Cam Newton did at the University of Florida.

Die-hard fans of the Tide have long accused Auburn of “buying” Cam Newton for $180,000.00.  There are more than a few who have suggested that Winston may be on the market soon.

We thought we would give you a peek at what the future may hold for “Jaboo”.

"Rocky Top Y'all"

Tennessee’s Uniforms For Saturday’s Game

Birmingham radio legend, Courtney Haden, produced this parody song for The Paul Finebaum Show several years ago.

In his production, Haden impersonated Alistair Cooke, the host of the Public Broadcasting Service’s Masterpiece Theater.

Haden narrates his version of a “Masterpiece Classic”, “The Meaning Of Rocky Top” to a backdrop of Lynn Anderson’s hit “Rocky Top” – The University of Tennessee’s adopted fight song.

“Rocky Top” was written by married songwriting duo Boudleaux Bryant (1920–1987) and Felice Bryant (1925–2003) in 1967.

I wonder if they have any relatives in Morro Bottom, Arkansas?

From Wikipedia.
With its good-natured regional references to a carefree lifestyle, the singing of “Rocky Top” by Tennessee college students and alumni at sports venues such as Neyland Stadium is well established. House of Bryant has granted the University of Tennessee a perpetual license to play the song as much and as often as success on the field dictates. Longtime director W. J. Julian created a marching band arrangement that was first played at Tennessee’s October 21, 1972, game against the University of Alabama.

The Girls of Rocky Top
Lyrics to “Rocky Top”
Wish that I was on ole Rocky Top,
Down in the Tennessee hills.
Ain’t no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top,
Ain’t no telephone bills.
Corn won’t grow at all on Rocky Top,
Dirt’s too rocky by far.
That’s why all the folks on Rocky Top
Get their corn from a jar.
Once there was a girl on Rocky Top,
Half bear the other half cat.
Wild as a mink, sweet as soda pop,
I still dream about that.
Rocky Top, you’ll always be
Home sweet home to me.
Good ole Rocky Top,
Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.
Rocky Top, you’ll always be
Home sweet home to me.
Good ole Rocky Top,
Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.
Now I’ve had years of cramped up city life,
Trapped like a duck in a pen.
Now all I know is it’s a pity life
Can’t be simple again.
Once two strangers climbed on Rocky Top,
Lookin’ for a moonshine still.
Strangers ain’t come back from Rocky Top,
Guess they never will.
Rocky Top, you’ll always be
Home sweet home to me.
Good ole Rocky Top,
Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.
Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.
Yeah Rocky Top Tennessee eee eee eee.

Miley Kiffin

Lane Kiffin morphs into Miley Cyrus on Cosmo Cover

Less than 24 hours after ESPN’s Paul Finebaum called Lane Kiffin “the Miley Cyrus of college football”, Kiffin was out as head football coach at the University of Southern California.

Finebaum appeared on  ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday morning and blasted Kiffin on national TV.  There is no doubt that USC movers and shakers were in the audience.

“In some respects, Lane Kiffin is the Miley Cyrus of College Football.  He has very little talent, but we simply can’t keep our eyes off of him.”

He went on to predict that Kiffin would be fired soon and enforced a common public perception that the USC coach often appears childish.

“I think Kiffin will be gone at the end of the season. For the sake of SC fans, I hope this time around the school will hire an adult to be its next head coach.”

Finebaum has a reputation for his relentless pursuit of under-performing college football coaches.  According to an old show introduction, The Paul Finebaum Show  is where MOST college football coaches are fired.

So, it came as no surprise that Finebaum had Kiffin “in his cross hairs”, but did we expect the radio host’s prediction would come true by the end of the weekend?

The USC Trojans fired coach Lane Kiffin this morning – hours after loosing to the Arizona State Sun Devils 62-41 .

A statement on the USC website indicated that Trojans athletic director, Pat Haden, broke the news to Kiffin.

A source told ESPN’s Joe Schad that Trojans assistant head coach Ed Orgeron will be named interim coach.  Orgeron is also USC’s recruiting coordinator and defensive-line coach.

Finebaum And Saban Magazine CoverOnly hours after news broke that University of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron‘s  mom and girlfriend appeared together on the cover of Access Magazine, parody covers began surfacing on the internet.

Given today’s culture of high technology, it was only a matter of time.

The magazine serves the Mobile, Alabama area and bills itself as “The Bay’s First Women’s Magazine!”.

McCarron’s mom, Dee Bonner, and girlfriend, model and former Miss Alabama USA Katherine Webb, posed at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile in July for an article in the magazine’s “September Fashion and Football” issue.

This parody image which surfaced depicts the faces of  ESPN radio host Paul Finebaum and University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban in place of the beautiful ladies.

Although the point of the parody cover is best interpreted by the observer, no doubt detractors of Finebaum and  rivals of the Crimson Tide will find it amusing.  Such is life at the top and both Finebaum and Saban are at the top of their respective professions.

A similar, although more harsh, parody GIF went viral yesterday depicting the same two gentlemen. It originated on a blog penned by a Texas A&M supporter.  The GIF spread so quickly that a second server was required to supply the demand.

If given the choice between the two framed magazine covers, rest assured the one of “AJ’s Girls” will be the one hanging on my wall.  I’ll leave the other for the less tasteless sports fans who don’t recognize true beauty when it hits them in the faces.
