Drunk Finebaum Caller“Charlie From Memphis” called The Paul Finebaum Show today to discuss The University of Alabama football program and his his “Bama friends”.

Fortunately for listeners, “Charlie” had a few drinks before mustering the nerve to call the show.

The conversation quickly deteriorated into a discussion of his feelings for Finebaum, Memphis, Mexican restaurants, and Charlie’s liquor preferences.

Once “The Big Swagu” (aka Marcus Spears) joined the conversation, things really got entertaining.

It’s worth a listen!

George Carlin

George Carlin

“Jim from Tuscaloosa”, the infamous “sidekick” of Paul Finebaum, apparently made his final call yesterday – at least for a while.

“Jim”, a regular caller to The Paul Finebaum Show, let one of George Carlin’s Seven Dirty Words slip and the ESPN censors missed it.

He, of course,  denied the allegation via Twitter, his forum of choice – second only to radio.

So, did he or didn’t he? Decide for yourself.

Did you hear it?

“I can’t BELIEVE I have to go through this SHIT to give you a compliment!” – Jim From Tuscaloosa

This wasn’t Jim’s first offense. According to Finebaum, “He was on double secret probation after what he said last week.”

Finebaum was joined by SEC Network Host, Dari Nowkhah, on today’s show as Finebaum and producer, John Hayes, discussed the “indefinite probation” with “Darriel from Columbus”.

“Jim”, well known for his Narcissistic tendencies, immediately contacted some of his closest personal friends (whom he has never met):

He even went so far as to invoke the name of the only caller ever be permanently banned from the Finebaum show, “Bobby from Homewood”.

“Jim” took the opportunity to announce that he has moved on from The Finebaum Show – again.

“Jim”, who quits the show almost as often as he calls it, bid a fond farewell:

For those of you who lament his passing on the show, have no fear.  “Jim from Tuscaloosa” is like a boomerang. You can toss him aside but he always comes back – whether or not you really want him.

These were some of the Twitter responses:

Herschel Walker

Herschel Walker

By Finebaum Fan.

Herschel Walker  joined Paul Finebaum today and talked about some of college football’s hottest topics.

The 1982 Heisman Trophy winner gave very candid answers to questions about  suspended University of Georgia running back, Todd Gurley, and not yet to be suspended Florida State quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Like Gurley, Walker played running back for the University of Georgia, where he was a three-time All-American and winner of the Maxwell Award.

“I know Jameis Winston…  is a young man who needs some guidance.  He’s a young man who needs someone to sit down and talk to him.” – Herschel Walker

We’ll pick up the conversation where it began after an aborted attempt to speak with Finebaum due to a bad phone connection:

“Phyllis From Mulga” took exception to ESPN’s Colin Cowherd’s comments regarding her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and Head Coach, Nick Saban.

This morning on his show, “In The Herd”, Cowherd made this comment on air immediately after Paul Finebaum had been interviewed:

Phyllis called into the Finebaum show today unaware of Cowherd’s comments.

It didn’t take long before Phyllis began her second scathing of Cowherd on the Finebaum Show.

Her first call was a classic and quickly went viral on social media.

Mississippi Territory

The Mississippi Territory

“Oh yeah, I laid in bed two days after that…”- “Randy In Mobile”

What we learned on Finebaum today:

On March 1, 1817, President James Monroe signed an act admitting Mississippi to The Union.  The western part of the Mississippi Territory became a state, and the eastern half became the Alabama Territory. In December of 1817, Mississippi became a state. Alabama followed in 1819.

Former SEC and NFL player, Marcus Spears made an impromptu appearance today as co-host on The Paul Finebaum Show.

Spears, initially a guest on today’s show, is a member of ESPN’s “SEC Nation” along with Finebaum, Joe Tessitore, Kaylee Hartung, and Tim Tebow.

“SEC Nation” is the pregame show modeled after ESPN’s “College GameDay” and airs on the SEC Network.

Finebaum stated, “This has been my favorite show since we’ve been on the air.”  Twitter fans agreed and were quick to react with rave reviews.
